A Fantastic Family Experience at New Rochelle Library
In my recent visit to the New Rochelle Library with my family, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional experience we had. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was evident that the library was not just a place for books, but a haven for families to engage and connect.
The warmth and friendliness of the library staff towards children were commendable. They went above and beyond to make our little ones feel welcome and comfortable. Their patience and genuine enthusiasm while interacting with the kids created an inviting atmosphere that made our visit all the more enjoyable.
Speaking of ambiance, the library exuded a sense of tranquility blended with excitement. The vibrant surroundings, filled with colorful displays and cozy reading nooks, created an inviting space for families to unwind and explore the world of literature together. It was a delightful environment that fostered curiosity and creativity.
The library's commitment to engaging children was evident through the array of activities available. From captivating storytelling sessions that transported young minds to far-off lands, to entertaining animated movies that brought beloved characters to life, there was never a dull moment. The interactive games and art activities also provided ample opportunities for children to learn and express themselves in an engaging manner.
Furthermore, the New Rochelle Library extended its services beyond children by offering valuable assistance to adults. The provision of English and computer classes demonstrated the library's dedication to empowering individuals and enhancing their skills in an ever-evolving world.
Overall, our experience at the New Rochelle Library was nothing short of exceptional. The library's emphasis on family, the genuine care shown by the staff, the lively atmosphere, the wide range of activities for children, and the support provided to adults all contributed to making it an outstanding institution. It is undoubtedly a place we will continue to frequent, as it not only promotes education but also nurtures a sense of community and togetherness.
We have been visiting this library for almost 20 yrs since my kids were toddlers and even seldom now that theyre in colleges. My eldest even volunteered in the second floor one summer. I rated 2 stars on this review Not for the library nor for library staffs(5 STARS of course)..but for a particular security guard who treats and talk to regular patrons like theyre in prison. I witnessed it first hand how this security guard demeanor with a lady when she was making some print outs and was closing time. He was yelling at her in spanish from accross the floor with absolutely no respect and in an immature manner.. like she lives in his basement. Poor lady somehow stucked with what she was doing so i had to help. Today, same security came up to me accusing that i left a trash(piece of paper that looks like a computer guest log in number) which clearly i never need nor use as i have and always used my own card all the time..so i checked back and said that was not my paper..but kept insisting and seemed agitated with all exaggeration in a louder voice saying that i have to get my "trash"..so i just quitely went and took it..although i know for sure it wasnt my "trash"(piece of fortune cookie size paper). However, theres occassionally some walk ins that are rude and bellingerent to them but they let them walk around the floor without any word nor action taken. NOt sure how library deal with this type of issue but the power/authority hog sec guards need to get reminded, if Not reprimanded..that this library is Not a delinquent institution.
I remember when this library was built in the 80's. I always enjoyed going there and enjoyed browsing the books. Keep up the great work
So many activities for all ages. Staff is patient and friendly. Plethora of resources.
Awesome for families with small children. Courtyard tends to be a place many homeless people hang out. Kids should not play outside unattended.
The staff members are very helpful .I had a great experience at this library.
Great Yoga class. Monday at 12:30 with Mildred Gladwin is inspirational invigorating and a support to the body.
This comment pertains to onsite usage of the library and does not address borrowing materials. In regard to its general function as an environment for study, there is room for improvement. At times, there are individuals making phone calls in the quiet area, some of whom appear to be homeless. The enforcement for low to no volume noise needs to improve as children can be heard shrieking, adult staffers can be heard speaking to one another in public spaces at full volume, and patrons can be heard conversing throughout. Subjectively, with noise cancelling earplugs equipped, I can hear loud conversations occurring from afar. At the risk of being wrong, my understanding of how libraries have functioned for centuries and ought to function is that they are quiet places for learning and individual study. I love loud and merry banter as much as the next fellow, but there are other places for that. Especially when Westchester County is among one of the highest taxed counties in the nation. The service can and should be better. For now, I recommend visiting alternatives in other local towns.
Love this place. Used to be here everyday when my kid was little. Still coming back because they have a bunch of activities for kids when they are on Winter break, Spring break, Summer break.
All of the people work here are very friendly and helpful.
Printer and Scanner are upstairs with cheap prices.
